Make inferences by reading other peoples’ text messages.
Okay, so it isn’t really snooping, but your students will think it is just as fun. I took my best-selling text message analysis resource and created an Easter version. Your students will read short text messages that require them to make inferences. They will then be asked to cite evidence in support of the inferences that they made. This resource packs powerful practice into a short and engaging activity that your students will love!
Let them color but make it meaningful.
This context clues color by number is one of my favorite resources. I always loved giving my students opportunities to color in class because who doesn’t love to color? I had to be mindful of how I did that because instructional time was so valuable, so I created this resource that combines important reading comprehension practice with coloring! Students read a variety of Easter-themed conversations and then use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words. They then color in boxes based on the answer they picked to reveal a festive mystery image! Students love this activity, and the finished work makes for an easy classroom display!
